Just picked up a Suzuka Blue on Saturday night at Hendrick Honda in Woodbridge. Well...TECHNICALLY it's my fiancee's car, but I'm probably going to drive it 50% of the time, and you could say that I had a little influence in her getting it. This was sort of an impulse buy, so I have NO familiarity with these cars at all....be gentle

My first question is, what are you guys paying for your S2000's? We got it at MSRP. Is that good, or could we have driven them lower? The dealer kept saying that the Suzuka Blue was a "hot new color", and they were orginally asking $2K over MSRP.

Second question is, what's the first mod you'd recommend, and do you have any warranty problems with the dealers you take the car to?

Thanks,

Tim

Welcome Tim! I also bought mine ('02 Spa) at Hendrick Honda back in October when the '02's first came out. I think for this area you got a great deal. Mine wasn't quite as good as your's, but not too much worse. $1000 over MSRP

There are a few of us owners around woodbridge, so hope to see you around and joining in our meets etc.

Oh, and lemme know when I can check out that Suzuka Blue in person

Welcome to the board Tim,

MSRP seems to be a good/normal price to pay now a days. Some folks paid over msrp but its a great car so its all worth it.

1st mod I'd like to recommend would be an X-brace.
Welcome

Thanks guys.

We'll definitely be coming to some of those meets....if we keep the car. My fiancee is already having "Buyer's Remorse" and thinking about selling because it's "just not practical". To be honest, I can't believe she bought it in the first place because she NEVER buys ANYTHING on a whim. Well....I'll try to reassure her that it'll be GREAT in the summer.

Congrats!

my $.02 is that you should drive "your" s2k for a good couple of weeks before reading all of the "interesting" stories out there. Then you will be truly in love with it and none of that stuff will matter.

you have purchased a great car that many of us researched the hell out of befor buying, but you were lucky enough to stumble in to the right place at the right time. Hopefully you weren't at the honda dealership looking to buy an odyssey when you came upon the s2k.

Put the roof down and smile .

Welcome Tim !!!! If she wants to get rid of it, buy it from her!!! Or buy a nice sedan and swap with her. Once you pass that 600 mile break in period and can enjoy VTEC, you will not be able to part with it.

Thanks for the inspiration! She'll probably keep it once the weather gets nicer, and yes, we did get REALLY lucky and just "stumbled" on the car. I usually spend months researching a car before buying it, but this car really caught our eye, and I know enough about them to realize we have a GREAT car in our hands.

I have a 2002 M3 coming at the end of March, so that will be our "practical" car.

Wait until you get it broken in and let her VTEC. That should get her hooked.
