Northeast Power Outage

dkhl took it upon himself to post in the Metro NYC forum concerning the outage. No one responded.

Anyway, we had a surge( about a 1 second power loss) around the same time NY lost power. Anyone else get that surge?

I was up there the day of the outage. It's spooky when you cross over the Veranzano and the Goethals and there are no lights. I got to my parents house about 11:30pm and they had just gotten power back 1/2 hour before that. On Friday I drove out to the eastern tip of Long Island (Montauk Point), where some areas still didn't have power.
