yea the ride SUCKED on the way to work today. so counter clockwise is softer and clockwise is firmer? Theres a strange noise coming from the back now too like a rattling noise every time the car first starts moving or hitting bumps. Nothing in the trunk and the spare is secure.

You should get a new alignment soon.

Check the bump rubber and see it its close to bottoming when the car is at rest. The JIC's needed a bit of spring preload to keep the bump rubbers from bottoming out. This caused all sorts of handling problems and clunking noises.

Fixing this made a HUGE difference in the handling.

When the preload was set, adjust the shock length to set the ride height. (the BC dampers have that feature right?)

Do the buddy club dampers have Pillow ball top hats? On the JIC's I owned I took
apart the top hat assy added some teflon tape to remove some play than reassemble them. THe last step was to use a impact driver to tighten the top hat to the shaft.

Did you load the suspension before torquing the bolts?

Hey thanks for all the help and questions but I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't know crap about these things so maybe Peter (who installed them can answer those questions.

I wanted to wait and make sure the noise issue and stuff could be fixed before I bothered with the alignment. I will def have it done soon though.

if you got the new N+ dampers from buddy club they should come with the upper pillow ball mount

if you got the racing spec damper... there's one version that comes with them and another version that doesn't come with them... (i'm pretty sure you can buy them seperately if needed)

Here is a thread all about preload on JIC dampers (which are similar in design)

It gets a little long winded but there is good info here. This will help you understand your suspension better and make your car handle better also.

Preload

ok it looks like the bump rubber is pretty high up....its near impossible to see though without jacking up and taking the tire off. If I do that though wont it decompress and not be accurate as to how much space is available for travel? Sorry if my terms aren't accurate. I'm praying nothing is "blown" or broken.

If you look at Dylan's signature....my rear is at least that low and on stock rims like him if that helps at all. My front looks a lil higher then his but not much.
