damn son. Umm, get a lawyer. I got a reckless and go to court on monday for it. I will post up the results. But yea, in virginia, anything over 100mph is usually automatic jail time and car impounded on the spot. So consider yourself lucky to be making this post. Mine was for peeling out, so it will be a different case all together, but i will still post up the results.

Oh.. one other thing. call around and get references for a good LOCAL Lawyer. You need someone who's good with wheeling/dealing with the local DA. DO NOT bring someone in from the outside (another county unless they have an established reputation, as they will most likely not give you as good a deal.

Do whatever your attorney tells you to..

ok here whats i did when i got my 126mph in the 65mph zone

-bring driving record. (you better hope this is your first ticket and you better not have a bad record)
-bring your report card to show you are good hardworking student (you better have good grades to show youre smart and this speeding ticket really is just a lapse in judgement)
-dress nicely and clean up (fresh shape up and all - if you look like a punk street racer then you are going to labeled as one that deserves what they get)
-contested the speeding (was it radargun or did he pace you?) if he paced you his judgement of speed is questionable. he might of needed to go to 104mph to catch up to you but you were probably going slower. if the radargun, then good luck.
-ask for community service, driving classes, jailtime etc (jailtime isnt that bad, youre not going to prison where youre going to get buttraped)

umm yeah thats it. i got off well

A ticket in VA will not transfer to GA as of dave22's last excursion. The two states were not talking at that time.

Whoever said that MD and VA do not talk is wrong. I'm living proof of that.

As was mentioned, get a local lawyer. Not sure why you needed to post the actual speed(bragging, perhaps), but you might want to remove it and your confession to said violation.

[QUOTE]Fact: The average amount of jail time for someone convicted of speeding over 90 mph in Virginia is greater than the average amount of jail time given to someone convicted of a first offense felony drug possession, felony shoplifting, felony embezzlement, felony grand theft auto or DUI with a BAC that is less than twice the legal amount!

i just said that because the judge at the rockville court said the points from the ticket in MD would not transfer to his VA driving record

that was on April 7, 2009

as far as posting the speed, i'm guessing it wouldn't matter because he would most likely plead guilty with explanation anyway. he would just be laughed at for pleading not guilty to going 107mph. better to plead guilty and ask for a break than to plead not guilty to something you obviously had to have been doing to get the ticket
