I would never consider 1qt/1000mi normal.

And oil consumption has very much to do w/ what oil you use... many of those same people who had consumption issues changed oil and the problem was gone. If your consuming oil at meth addict rate something isn't right... not saying your car will blow, but that isn't right

Da fuk he on? 1qt per 1000 miles is not normal I don't care if soichiro himself told you that.
I'm topping up a quart or two between 6k changes. Let it burn as far as I care. There's nothing I can do, and it's not affecting anything.

I was actually planning on getting the oil changed literally the day I got back knowing I was approaching 3k miles since the last. Keep in mind I bought this car in april and have put about 2000 miles on it since, and the previous owner had meticulous records and had it changed about 1000 miles before I got it from him. It may very well have been the type of oil he had.
I'm getting my diagnosis in bits and pieces since I'm at my office until 5 today and just getting phone calls from my dad who's office is right by the dealership. The mechanic did say that the early one's (which I assume he means AP1's) go through oil a little faster than normal cars. Keep in mind this is my first true sports car, and a far stretch from the Accord's and Odysseys my family has had in the past so it has been a learning experience.
Good new's seems to be I have plenty of options. I'm keeping in touch with Steven and will know in the next 24-48 hours what the decision ends up being.

Update!!!
First I'd like to thank everyone for their help. I had no trouble finding plenty of options for the replacement engine. I ended up going with a brand new one from Honda. It comes with a full warranty and the price included the removal of the old one and the complete install of the new one. She should be ready and back on the road by Thursday of this week, Friday at the latest.
Is there anything unique to the F20C when it comes to breaking in the new motor? This would be my first time dealing with a brand new one and while I understand the general idea of keeping the rev's strictly to what I would on a daily drive and just in general being gentle for the first 500-750 miles, I wasn't sure if there was anything else I should know.
