Default Squibb and His Buddy Ernie.

Everyone here knows how exciting it can be to get a mod in the mail, right? Well, I got my strut bar in yesterday afternoon.

I got her out of the package and read the directions. This being the first time putting on a strut bar, I didn't think about having Jack-Lifts. I called a few local places...i.e. - tire shops, the Honda dealer where I bought my MY04, and a local tuner shop. All said no. Grant it was a short time notice, but I wanted to get it done before I leave this morning for an unexpected road trip. (I will be back tomorrow night, b/c it was cut short...gotta love the government.)

So, out of despiration, I called the one place that I know does warranted Comptech mods to their cars, Tischer Acura here in Laurel, MD. I explained my situation, and the gentlemen handed the phone to a guy we all know as Squibb. We talked for a minute or two. He was more than willing to help me out, but he was stacked high with other clients. Squibb then referred me to his buddy Ernie, Owner of Metro Motorworks. They just happen to be 9 miles down the road from me! I get there as soon as I can to meet Ernie and his crew. Let me tell you this: They were great! I was in and out in twenty minutes. (Due mainly to our conversations while the mod was going in.) The fee he charged for the rack-time and install was 1/4 of the cost everyone else had quoted me. Which, I guess, is understandable seeing as how Ernie is a Honda Specialist.

So, Big Thanks to Squibb and Ernie of Metro Motorworks

The answer is simple:

I didn't have the proper equipment, nor did any of my neighbors or friends. Therefore, I called around to see who could help. It was way cheaper to have these guys place the part, and back up their work than to go to Pepboys and buy the car lifts. I know...I called them first.

Besides, what a good way to get a feeling for your new mod than a ittle road trip.

Having never done something like that before, I had to be cautious too. I am not a S2K Guru.

I hope that answers the question for you.

I sure hope you mean "crossbrace" or "underbrace." The car does not get jacked up for a strutbar. The strutbar is completely visible in the engine bay, while the other is viewed from underneath the vehicle.

Hope you had a good trip.

As stated from the Comptech installation guide:

"and use the appropriate safety equipment to avoid any potential damage or injuries.
Remember to always use jackstands to support the vehicle when a car lift is not available. Always work in a clean
environment and use the appropriate safety equipment and tools to avoid any potential damage or injuries."

I tried the install myself I worked on it for an hour, and realized that I didn't have the proper equipment.
So, I went the route of a person that knows when to say when; I called around and got the job done.

Here are some pictures of the Strut Bar:
