HA! I wasn't thinking of it like that. All the bolts are spec'd at less then 20 pounds or so.

I have an older Jeep that frustrates me with rusted and damaged fasteners nearly every time I go to work on it. I know EXACTLY what you are talking about.
Ha, I had to go out and "rent" (my version of rent is buy and return at sears after use) a $500 1000ft/lb impact gun. My 500lb impact wasn't cutting it. That 1000lb impact rocked (Ingersol Rand TI Series) but $500+ tax was a little more than I was willing to blow on my current budget (2 years ago). Snapped those suckers loose in one blow. I spent 30 min with a 4-5ft breaker bar and couldn't move them.

I did a quick search using the word 'starter' within the forum I'd suggested earlier. Here are the search results...you might want to review some of them.

Also there's a very specific thread linked >> here << in the Notes FAQ / DIY... sticky portion of the S2000 Under The Hood forum that offers insights to your particular question about replacement.

BTW...would it be out of line to ask if you've checked other things prior to replacing the starter? Battery, starter solenoid, etc.?

It's not a cubicle, it's a break room.

I'm not trying to bust balls here...I just can't believe how cavalier some folks are about doing something that's not very honest.

Think about the last time you made a purchase thinking something was NEW and when you got home and opened it, realized it was already used. Have we done it, of course...in my younger (dumber) days, I did. Nowadays, I don't. Only if what I bought doesn't work.

I guess I coulda communicated _my_ feeling a little different.

I've been having some shitty days too man...so I'm glad I could make your day a little better.
