It should be a lot faster than 95, I'm hitting 90 at track out
I drive a Miata, I hit ~95 just before I brake for 10

I don't recall what I did in the Vette there, only ran one time at SP Main and was not feeling well and didnt really push hard.

other issue with #9 since the repaving is that it is more off camber left of center line than it was before. cold and/or damp conditions, less grip, car will drift left, get in the marbles, driver overcorrects to try and get back online instead of driving it off left side, in the dirt, but under control.

we always had lots of cars heading for the right side tire wall, one of my s2k students a couple years ago ended up parked on top of them, but it seems like there have been more of them this year, like the 2008 viper at one of the 1st FATTS of the year.
This car went off on the left into the tirewall, bounced across the track and entered the woods on the right hand side about halfway between track out of T9 and the bridge. I am not kidding when I say that I could not see ANY part of the car it was so deep into the woods.

Sounds like he kept the throttle down.

All those injuries in a big and safe chassis too.

I hope the driver gets better soon. That's a lot of injuries. I've always been amazed by how many drivers drive at their regular speed before the car/tires are warmed up. I wonder if a proper roll bar/harnesses/Hans or equivalent would have prevented all these injuries.

That is unbelievable. I suppose the big chassis momentum did more harm than good, in this case.

I hope he heals up quickly

SO was there one accident or two? I thought there were two. Very confusing...hope he's OK though. How does insurance work in this case? Is his car totaled?

It was just one accident as far as I know.

Pretty sure the guy has no chance of insurance covering that either.

Most insurance don't cover even HPDEs now adays. If they do, they'll raise your rates or drop you all together after the claim from what I've read on many forums. There is separate track insurance that you can buy though.
