OK, I admit I hate my front license tag and would like to clean up the appearance of my S by removing it. Has anyone in MD removed their front tag, and if you did have you been stopped and ticketed for it?

well i have taken it out. 20 minutes into the road i was pulled over. im in virginia. the cop only gave me a warning. i was too lazy to put it back so i keep it w/o a front plate for 2 weeks till i was pulled over again, and this time the offier wasnt as nice as the other one and gave me $55 ticket.

Seems like when I've met up on MD events, every single MD owner is running around without a front plate . VA cops are fairly P.I.T.A. about front plates missing. As such, I had Coastal Metals do a modified center grille assembly when I ordered my grille from them. Here's what I got them to do (ground down ~ 20% of the boarder of the plate & professionally mounted it to the grille when they shipped it back to me):

Since I have a personalized plate, BRZD BNA, which I rather appreciate for The Bruised Banana, I enjoy having this plate mounted in this fashion. BTW, never had an overheating problem (which has been a question many times by folks considering mounting the plate down in the grille).

My front plate has been sitting in the trunk since last February . So far no problems with Johnny Law whatsover and no regrets. I love the clean look of the front without the plate and mounting bracket The front grill works great - no overheating or any other problems

Now Mikey...in all fairness...you have to drive your S2K enough for Johnny Law to even see you in the first place!

... or me! Anyway, I've had mine off since last Spring, and I've had no problems...

...until a week before Christmas, when I got my first speeding ticket AND a ticket for no front plate ($25 fine)...I don't want to say much about the speeding ticket until after I finish fighting it

Don't have mine on since I received the tags. The bracket was there on delivery. I took it off right after I installed the rear tag. The front tag/bracket are now with the spare tire. So far so good in term of the law.

i took out the front bracket right after i got home from the dealer's lot... never had the front tag on... i did got a ticket for it when i parked it infront of my school at D.C. but after that i just put the front tag on the windshild, i have never got any more ticket... i got pulled over for it once, but i just told the cop that i ordered but the bracket havent got here yet... that seems to work pretty well, cause i have been using that line for all five cars that i had... come to think of it, i have not had a front tag on any of my cars...
