Default Tint

I was wondering if it is legal to tint the top part of the windshield. I've found info about only being able to tint above the AS1 line. I looked at my windshield and did not see this line. I, however, did see an AS1 line on my friend's Accord.

Along the same lines, is it legal to put on a banner on the top part of the windshield?

I only ask because, uuuuuh, my friend..... Bob, has recently purchased a V1 and would like to mount it to the left of the rear view mirror and up high.

Any info and/or suggestions?

I'm pretty sure tint is legal at the top of the windshield. Not sure how low you can go, though.

Banners are definitely illegal.

Looks like I've got some conflicting info. Can anyone else comment on this?

Sure. Team V and I got our windows done by LATint at the same time right before Steve left for Cali. I asked the guy. In Virginia, nothing is allowed to be put on the windshield. 50% in front of the B pillar and 35% back.

I'm 35% on all windows. I'm in conflict with another VA law that is stupid.

i know a recent change to the law allows for the back glass to be as dark as you want, . .im not sure if that includes rear side windows or not though. but other than that with skip, 50% up front, and nothing on the windshield.

Thanks guys. Looks like Bob will have to find some stealth way of mounting his V1 when the top is down.

I really do hate some of the VA laws.
