Trying new "NOTES/STICKY" effort...your thoughts???
I'm happy to report that events and meets are more the norm than the exception here on our Mid-Atlantic Club forum. And as your Community Organizer, I've attempted to keep upcoming meets/events "bubbled to the top" by making them a Sticky/Note at the top of our forum for the last couple months. However, as it has become a rather large list of event links at the top...and I'm sure it causes members to have to scroll down to find recent posts...I've changed the layout a little. Rather than have 20 different "NOTES" at the top of the Mid-Atlantic forum to scroll through in order to get to daily postings, I've decided to try this single sticky note thread instead.
Look
UP
to the top at the "ALL CAPS" sticky/note. Click on it and tell me what you think.
Thanks,

, would deliberately point folks to it now and then (in initial well-wishing, etc.) to get them familiar with its location. In a different way of looking at this format, the *actual* event threads now bob up and down the forum as interest dictates...yet the single "sticky" at the top of the forum makes it easy for members to locate upcoming events quickly within potentially one to three immediate pages of club threads. The calendar isn't a bad idea either Tep...in fact I *believe* Gregg or Hiroprotagonist had attempted something like this before. But it was the effort required to keep it up that made it unwieldy. With this "sticky" format...Its just about linking a thread that already exists within our forum...and then delete the link (only the link within the sticky) when the events date has past.
