weekend getaway suggestions???
Any of you have suggestions for weekend getaways in the area, maybe up to four, five hours away? Looking for places to go visit, etc, something nice and cute.
Fed, I just got back from taking my girlfriend to Cape May, NJ for a few days. You may want to look into this. You could take the Lewes Delaware/Cape May, NJ ferry and spend a couple of days in Cape May.
Cape May is a nice Victorian town on the tip of NJ. We stayed at a B&B and ate at some great restaurants.

Gotta re-start this thread to put in a good word for the Sugar Tree Inn. It's a B & B set at 2800 feet in the Blue Ridge Mountains between Staunton and Lexington, VA. Awesome views from the front porch, great accomodations, wineries all over the place to visit and a great restaurant in the main lodge...all about 3 and a half hours from the DC area.
And did I mention the roads?
The drive up to the Inn on VA Route 56 is full of twisties, and you're a five-minute drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
