Default Williamsburg-Yorktown Drive and Picnic

If any of you are interested ... I can set up a caravan get together leaving from Williamsburg, down the Colonial Parkway and end up at Yorktown where we can all park and have a picnic lunch. Just near Carters Grove there is a small 4 mile drive called the "Country Road". It meanders through a wildlife refuge and its in the middle of a bird sanctuary. The ladies love it!!

Maybe we can set up something mid September.

I was formerly the president of the Hampton Roads Miata Club and everyone enjoyed this ride. Now that I have reformed and bought an S2K, I've seen the light!!!

If I can have a quick poll, I'll set up, pick a date and do the rest ... plus ... I'd like to introduce myself and meet you all.

Phillip

I was thinking about something like that, but longer. Have a Starbucks meet in Suffolk, then cruise up route 10/31, over the ferry, then do the entire Parkway to Yorktown to make a full day out of it. A Saturday in mid-late September would be good.

Sounds like a great idea. We haven't done a big Williamsburg drive in a long time.

^ Jackass driving, primarily.

It seems some dumbass ran their boat into a bridge south of Wmbg, so the full parkway is out.

Yep. No reason for any of us to get out there and drive crazy.

I agree unlike the other people talking random crap it's more or less the roads that we usually take are so bad now that it's kinda pointless to do the route we usually do.
I am all for driving thru a bird sanctuary and such maybe even a good photo op for some of us photogs out here...
