Default WTB: AP1 Summer Tires

I'm looking for some rear summer tires for my stock AP1 wheels. I'll be using them for autocross.

Location:
Lexington Park, MD (weekdays)
Olney/Laurel, MD (weekends)

Method of contact:
PM

What I need:
Summer tires for stock AP1 wheels
225/50/16 or 245/45/16 size rear
205/55/16 fronts
new or lightly used (50%+ remaining tread life)
Treadwear rating of 140+

If you've only got rear tires, I might be interested in that too. Thanks!

You should be using 245s on the rear AP1 wheels.

I've read the thread talking about that, and would prefer a 245 if I could get a tire I liked with those dimensions. Almost nobody makes a 245/xx/16 though (at least not for sale on tire rack).

Edit: The only 245 tire I can afford on tire rack has a treadwear rating of 320. My thinking is that a 225 width with a wear rating of 140-200 will be more grippy than any 245 with a wear rating of 320.

Is there a 245/xx/16 that I should be looking for?

Hmm, yea that is the problem with 16" wheels, finding tires sucks. You are right you may be better off with the 225. You also know that you shouldn't get a different brand of tire front and rear of the car right? That makes for dicey handling.

I was thinking about that. My logic in getting unmatched fronts and rears is that the rears I'm getting would be grippier than my fronts, so I would only be tending toward some slight understeer at worst. (In my mind that is).

If I was going for a matched set, there are these crazy 265/45/16's that I'm thinking about. I could go 225 front, 265 rear with these: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...romCompare1=yes

YOu could also get the rear RS-3's.

They both come in OEM sizes oh and the RS-2's are on sale right now

haha I don't know if you want to put 265s on an AP1 rear wheel, it will be very pinched.

Right again. Always trying to spoil my tire fun, Jim I'll keep my search within reasonable sizes for the stock wheels.

Anyway, who's got tires for me?!

Updated first post. Now looking primarily for a full set.
