Default obd2 diagnostics

Do any s2k owners in dubai have an obd2 cable and the software for laptop to pull engine codes from the ecu.
Does anyone know where I can buy such a thing in the UAE?

Hi,

You can diy this for free if you have the skills/nerve. Thanks to Modifry and the 'Search' function...

What is the problem with your car?

I tried this mod with grounding pin one and It didn't work, so I think that the engine code was not one that is valid DTC that can be read with this method, as im pretty sure I didn't do the mod wrong.
I thought the problem with the car was a map sensor problem. However I have noticed that the v-tec kick in is not as noticeable as it was.
Do you know of any garages that could pull the code for me from the obd2.

Do you have a CEL on?

The 'feel' of vtec kick in can be affected by many things. Humidity, temperature, dirty sparkplugs, low oil level, dirty air filter...

Can you tell if vtec does engage or not? In my car the sound changes (increases) quite noticeably when going to the bigger cam.

The vtec does kick in just not as brutal as it used to be.
Have you tried the mod to get the engine warning light to do blink codes. I was wondering if the pin wiring is different in our cars to the american ones.
The oil level is fine and filter is clean..

Cheers

No I have not tried that mod. Can't try it now, or if I would I would get the DTC for "No Engine"

Thanks for the info.
I have bought a full diagnostics system from the states ($150), which has cable and full software for laptop. So that should be here in a couple of weeks. Its a good tool to have anyway to see how the ecu reacts after modifications and that sort of thing. This software also measures 1/4 mile times and speeds as well which is quite handy for comparisons after modifications.
Ill let you know when I get it if any one is interested in having a look.

But would you be able to tune the car with the same software? I dont think you can write on the factory ROM.

I will surely be interested in looking at it. I know of a friend who does ROM writing using a software and changes the chip on B series engines.
