Radio help
A buddy of mine just bought an 03 S2K. He wants to upgrade his radio without losing his radio controls on the left. How can this be done?
Also, he was wondering if he could get speakers installed in his headrest. Any help?

I run one of these with my Alpine 9885. Retains all the stock controls and also adds some extra functionality (lets you do multiple button combos for folder seeks on MP3 disk, etc. etc.)
For what its worth, your friend will also want to upgrade his door speakers. I have Polk Db 6500s and while I like them I think the tweeters are way too bright. I've read much better reviews on the Infinity Reference 6020cs. Both the Polk db and the Infinity Reference series are very efficient speakers and give good sound from the built in head unit (if you don't want to use an amp).
I've seen headrest speaker brackets for the S2000 before, I don't know if they were custom made or if you can buy them from someone. If I recall they fit 5 3/4" speakers into the headrest, the install looked good but the cable routing was kind of weird. Hope this helps.

I use one of the Modifry units as well. It's easy to install. I've got a pair of Polk MOMO MMC6500's and they sound great. The tweets were really bright as well but I set them to -6db and they sound much better. The way the tweets are arranged, they are just too close to the listener.

x 3 on the Modifry dash control interface (DCI) and upgrading the door speakers. I have the infrared DCI hooked up to my Alpine CDA-9856 head unit and a set of Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 in the doors.

I've fitted small speakers into the mesh area in the headrests, the wires run down the inside of the seat backs, I then got some black cloth which I secured to the inside of the silver snap off cover on the back of the seat, these seem to help with top down sounds.
