Let everything ride out today.

Tonight do your HW on stocks you've always wanted to get in on and have good fundamentals.

Tomorrow morning, pay attn to the after hours #s.

You'll be able to tell if the stocks you picked (hopefully TECH, among other awesome sectors not involved with sub prime) will be opening up or down.

Formulate two strategies.

One a momentum strategy if the stocks you pick are moving up.

The other a weakness strategy. If the stocks you want are still going down split your purchase trail to take advantage of the discounts.

Serious bargains tonight. Awesome.

I want to say yes because of panic but it's always good to wait for tomorrow since *you already have a position.*

Why it's so important is that all the news agencies are going to be offering their 'advice' and that may or may not sway investors not readily swayed to sell their positions. (which is even better situation, that would be like a double coupon sale day)

Akamai [AKAM] looks very attractive to me at these levels. They reported good earnings yesterday, meeting earnings and beating on sales estimates. But they are down 20% plus today in trading on supposedly declining profit margins.

I don't follow akamai at all but you mentioned "supposedly declining profit margins". That's pretty bad. You should probably find out more about that before jumping in. If they're declining you should find out why. If it was due to a one time event then it's probably not a big deal and could be a buying opportunity. If they're declining because costs are going up, the you might need to re-evaluate. Something like that is almost surely brought up in the conference call and the analysts will beat the subject to death. What I would be looking for specifically is the CEO's response to the problem. If it's a one time thing he'll say that, if its a problem he better have a good reason as to why it's happening and what they're going to do about it.
