I bought FRE at $2, let's just say that. And GE at $21 (which I thought was good at the time ).

Sigh. Oh well, I sold off FRE when it hit $1, but I'm holding on to GE for shits and giggles (only 5 shares I think?)

Fortunately I put all my money in a cash account last year. As a result I only lost around 30% on the rest.........yikes.

I left the market in Feb and only dipped a toe in a few times to test the water since. I've got less than $2K in stocks right now but I'm starting to nibble a little more. Probably won't do much before the new year but I'll probably commit some cash in the first few weeks of the year and gradually ease back in looking for deals.

I left the market also about that time but stuck most of it back in when the Dow went to 9k. It couldn't possibly go any lower than that... could it?

I want to publicly thank Magician and his magic Portfolio Optimizer software. I re-shuffled my mix early in '08 based on the recommendation, and I *only* lost 12% in '08, which is still significant but not as bad as it would have been if I hadn't re-shuffled (upwards of 45% loss estimated).

saw that this morning. ouch.

So what's the story on purchasing it at 26.95? Looking back at the moment you bought it, what were the main reasons behind it?
