I'm personally going to wait until the market shows definite signs of determined movement in either direction. I think it's highly likely we're near the short-term bottom, or perhaps slightly past it, but I'm not confident enough to trade on it. The VIX is still too high for my tastes. If it falls down to 22-23 I'll be much more confident.

How is everyones take on peak energy from fossil fuels?

I don't think alternatives are going to save us.......ergo sum....market falls.


Peak from fossil fuels is supposed to be around 2010. but peak oil will definitely hinder economic progress.

not to mention the ice pole to north won't exist by 2015.

I wouldn't let them get you too excited. In the 70's scientists were claiming the earth would be in a new ice age by today. It was on the cover of TIME btw. If you think they know a huge amount more than they did you may be right, but if you are only doubling your knowledge from 1% to 2% of the whole picture you still have a lot of work to do. We need to expand our wind and solar capabilities but that has nothing to do with us beyond our vote, the government has to take action like it has with ethanol, which is an absolute financial and economical disaster.

Futures are up for tomorrow's open. Next week is going to be a little weird with Thanksgiving next week it will be open only 2.5 days. I have no idea what to expect.
