Default Christmas Bonuses...Anybody Getting One ?
We get a yearly bonus which is (hopefully) due to be paid out in March but we get nowt at Christmas time.
Is the traditional Christmas bonus a thing of the past ?

I think it is a dying breed Andy. I didn't get a Christmas bonus (as such) but a bonus dependant on the company's on-time departure performance. My airline came top of the league table for departures at Gatwick and had we not been 'pipped to the post' by JMC at Manchester we would have got more money.

Quite a few of my friends in the IT industry do still get bonuses around Christmas time, my g'friend certainly has, but most of these people work for large multinational companies in the city. I think smaller companies have found reasons not to give them out anymore.

Being an IT Contractor, I'll second that.

Bonus ? Haven't seen one of those since I was a permie, but then it was PRP (profit related pay) which was done as a tax dodge, for which the loophole has now been closed.
