Why do people hate our fellow Americans so much? How come everyone is up in arms with the 850 billion in stimulus package that is going to the American people but no one peeps with the 12 billion we spend each month being in Iraq??

Do you think, Mr. McCain who along the way mentioned economics were not his strong suit, would have had a better idea?

...
What McCain and Bush would do is no longer a relevant question in my opinion. We have Obama now. If Obama makes a mistake or does something to hurt the country, Bush and McCain are meaningless. You and others can continue to judge Bush and McCain if you think that is relevant, but I'll watch and evaluate the president we actually have.

Simple. the pork in the so called stimulus package is going to just be given to asshats. The money spent in the war is used killing asshats. I get a better return on investment with the later.

I never said I hated anyone. I said the important social welfare issues should be part of a seperate bill and not sold to the American people as part of an economic stimulus package.

As for justifying the $850B by pointing to the war in Iraq, that's like the bankrupt husband defending his purchase of a new boat because the wife remodeled the kitchen. The Trustee in Bankruptcy has two words for you "WAKE UP!" You have no money. You don't borrow and spend more just becuase we are also spending money on some other stupid thing. You stop spending on all stupid things.

Maybe those welfare projects are not stupid, but they should be judged on their own merit, not tied to economic stimulus that we know we need.

Daschle is the second cabinet nominee who failed to disclose taxable income and now has to pay back taxes.

Iran says Obama's offer to talk shows US failure

Jan 31 08:16 AM US/Eastern

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=CN...&show_article=1

US President Barack Obama's offer to talk to Iran shows that America's policy of "domination" has failed, the government spokesman said on Saturday.
"This request means Western ideology has become passive, that capitalist thought and the system of domination have failed," Gholam Hossein Elham was quoted as saying by the Mehr news agency.

"Negotiation is secondary, the main issue is that there is no way but for (the United States) to change," he added.

After nearly three decades of severed ties, Obama said shortly after taking office this month that he is willing to extend a diplomatic hand to Tehran if the Islamic republic is ready to "unclench its fist".

In response, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad launched a fresh tirade against the United States, demanding an apology for its "crimes" against Iran and saying he expected "deep and fundamental" change from Obama.

Iranian politicians frequently refer to the US administration as the "global arrogance", "domineering power" and "Great Satan".

Tensions with the United States have soared over Iran's nuclear drive and Ahmadinejad's vitriolic verbal attacks against Washington's close regional ally Israel.

Former US president George W. Bush refused to hold talks with the Islamic republic
