Word of advise: If you can hold off until after winter, do it! Between the economy and the season, prices are way down. Keep it advertised though, and if I hear of anyone looking for one, I'll let you know.
You will get more money for the car if you sell it yourself than if you trade it in, regardless of whether you wait or sell it now. It's more convenient to trade it in, though. I would think the difference would probably be a couple of thousand or so.

It depends though. Right now, that is probably true. But normally on a car like this and the right dealer, it works out to be pretty damn close (when you figure in the sales tax savings).
Yiannis,
what type of car are you thinking about getting?

I am between an M3 and a C 32 AMG. Any suggestions? I agree that the announcement of the 2002 model does not help, but on the other hand the new model does not appear to be different in a major way, with the exception of the glass rear-window.
