3M on the hood???
It is quite a challenge to put it on properly. It takes the Autobahnd installers a few hours per car...and these are the guys that do it all day. There isn't much room for error when working with the adhesive.
I've never worked with the 3M, but I've done a lot of vinel, which I know is much more forgiving, but I think I can do the work myself. I just want to see what it looks like when it's on...because with that stuff once it's on it's ON! If you don't like the way it looks after...you're not completely screwed, but it's not fun taking it back off from what I've heard!
I don't anyone has completely covered the hood, only about the front 18" or so. Most people do more than just the hood. They normally do all the front facing surfaces (including the mirrors).
3M film is very hard to photograph on a car as it more or less disappears if the picture is taken from more than a few feet away.
Look at this thread to get an idea of what it looks like:

You can take it off but the surface of the car (and film) should be quite warm first, like having sat in the sun for a couple of hours. Then you can do a final cleaning with something like WD-40 and re-polish afterwards.

1: get a heat gun it helps
2: use a type of solution to keep the deal moving (like water with a little bit of soap
3: put masking tape on the tips of the fingers that might touch the stiky side (so you don't leave any finger prints)
4: get a good precleaner from your local paint supply store
