As with CBR2200, I had the tear and got a new top from the dealer under warranty (stole CBR's, actually...same dealer, same day, my schedule was more hectic so mine got done first).

A week or two later, I took it to an upholsterer in town and had patches put in where the rail wears through.

Erick has a ton of OEM soft top material at his house. I bet he will be willing to give you a few patches to place on the inside.

 

Yup, I bought a patch piece that was about 2ft by 2ft. So far, I've used a piece about 3 inches in diameter and the rest is just sitting someplace.

 

This is a different material than the OEM cloth. It's a heavier material. Wait a few months, and I'll probably be there in Boston and can let you guys come over for a feel
