Alarm installation! Where?
Just picked up my S yesterday! Yay!!! Without wasting time and peaking out my window everynight I need an alarm. I want the Viper 5901. Im in Springfield Mass. I want to purchase the alarm online for about $220. A few local places (west springfield)want $600+ for alarm and install! Anyone know of a place that does installs if the alarm isnt purchased from them? willing to travel up to an hour or so if its worth it. Thanks!!

Honestly having worked at a stereo shop for 10 years I will say with 100% confidence that they will not warranty the alarm if you bring it to them and have issues. If something doesn't work it will cost you time and money. Typically they will charge more per hour to install your alarm that you bring in vs. one that they sell to you.
See if you can haggle on the price a bit, shop around but you typically get what you pay for on the installation. If they solder, tape, tuck wires well. Bury the brain deep in the dash, use existing grommet holes, drill into your baby as little as possible it costs more but this yields a life long product. I had installed over 10 years ago an alarm/motion sensor and have had NO issues.
I am from CT near the shoreline so I am about 2 hours from you. If you are interested give them a call. http://www.starlanderbeck.com/ Can't say I have any pull with them on price any more but tell them that the guy that used to work there that owns a S2000 (Jim) sent you.
Good luck.

LOL! They do but as I said......warranty would be minimal at best and cost to install increases. Likely the warranty would be only on the labor, so if product went bad I am not sure how they would handle that.
The installer there has done a few S2000's including mine. Step 1 in the process is REMOVE THE FRONT SEAT! It's tight under there and removing the seat is just easier. That or you have feet out over the roll hoops.
If you made the day trip you would be welcome to come over to my place and hang out on a Saturday if I am around. I live not 3 minutes from the shop.
