Default Any business owners in here?

How old were you when you started your business? What type of business? How much money did you use to start it? Was it your first place? Any tips on starting your first bus., anything you would have done different or anything? Any info. at all?
Thanks Jordan

I became a Partner in an existing practice. Sounds like you are looking for advice from someone with a start-up. PM Cordycord. He is active over in Vintage. He has several start-ups. Also PM Jumpy Guy. He has several small businesses. Lastly, try OhioRacer. He started a consulting business years ago that was very successful.

Yes true Dave , I work harder ... and make no moe money as I have many Bills . Hoping it will pay off in a few more years once equipment stats getting paid off .

I started with $3000 to my name . I was lucky to have a great friends I met here on S2k that rented me my first garage space and others that helped out mentally and physically ( Tom , Giles , Glenn ) And the rest of you that supported me and trusted me with your toys

I will see you Saturday Jordon and we can chat

yah, I know it will def. be harder work than working for someone else at first and I am willing to do that, but the business I want to start is my own used car dealership. I am already putting away money so I dont have to borrow it all to startup, I act. dont want to borrow as much as possible! Def. will talk sat. Scott, anyone else have any more tips or ideas, or things they would have done different.

Seems like a tough and overly saturated business these days unless you are going to focus at a niche market much like Tom Balon did at Vehinet ie old sports cars

My wife is in the restaurant business, she started her current Pizza place almost 8 years ago. One thing that helped her was that she has a business partner to share the stresses with. Sure, it means they split the profits, but they also split the workload.

I don't know what type of biz you are looking for, but look at the big picture (costs, labor, hiring of help, vendor relations, etc..) you may find yourself overwhelmed. May not hurt to have someone to go in with.

My 2 pennies.

Thanks guys, I already sell cars on craigslist. Now do you business owners own your own property/building, or do you rent?
