Audio Help
A few years back Scott did an excellent job of installing my system. However, this last year my headunit died. I replaced it with an Alpine 9886, but had problems with the dash interface. I have the Modifyr and it doesn't work with this headunit (both are/ were Alpine). So I picked up the PAC dash interface. My problem now is to install the PAC. I installed the headunit and it works, but am unable to get the dash to work.
I'm looking for some help on the install of the PAC. I have everything needed for the install and I'd be willing to travel a reasonable distance for some help if someone has the time to spare. Thanks

2 things.....
On the PAC did you install the resistor between the white and black wires on the PAc unit (I'm assuming you are using the SWI-X/Swi-Alp, SWI-JACK....)
"Only applicable for vehicles with the "Mode" button on the steering wheel: In some cases for the Mode button to function, no resistor is needed, a 3900 ohm resistor is needed, or a 5100 ohm resistor is needed across the INTERFACES white and black wires. If pin # 11 (brown wire) in the factory radio harness is available, connect to chassis ground. "
I think my 02 used a 3900 OHM.
#2
At some point, I think 2 years ago, Alpine changed their IR control signal protocall. This may be why your Modifry may not be working with your newer Alpine unit.
I'd drop a note to Modifry...perhaps you can get an update?
