Default Bargain Key Replacement

Just in case you need this service -

While I was lucky to find free storage this winter, I was unlucky when the guy in charge lost the spare key that I left with him. So, searching for a new key to my 2003 S2000, found nothing at Home Depot or local harware store, and got quoted $150 for the chip key at Honda in Lawrence. Just by chance, I tried ACE hardware.

Eureka! They had the key blank, cut and programed the key in 5 minutes, all for $70. Perhaps this is common knowledge, but I wanted to pass it on in case you ever need a new key.

A new fob is all over the internet, so that is not a problem.

Wow Vinnie. Now that makes me angry. I always try them first and the Home Depot in Danvers MA told me flat out that they do not make any keys with a chip have to go to the dealer. Same with a local hardware store in Reading MA. Was this recent and which home depot did you get your key at?

I go to the home depot which is like 2 mile away from my house 85 Main Street, Tewksbury Ma. and they have lot of programmable keys just one thing suck about it you can't bring your own programmable key to have them program other then that its still vs dealer charge. I'm actually using the copy key and put my original away since I got only one key with I bought the car. Had the key done last year I think and they still do that now but to make sure you can give them a call so you won't waste your trip in case you want to make another copy for another vehicle.

unless it was stored at a friends house, I would hope that the storage place payed for your key replacement.
