SO.....anyone have any experience putting a deposit down on a rare new piece of hardware?

I'm thinking about putting a deposit down on a GT-R and selling rights to it on Ebay.....anyone want to join?

I met a guy at Japanese Car Day a few years back who did this with a Ford GT. He used to own an S2K and at the time I met him he had a black NSX. He lived in New Hampshire. I think his screen name was Saylor or something like that. Haven't seen him around here in a long time though.

Even if he's not interested in joining, I bet he could share some nuggets of wisdom if you can find him.

I just checked Quicken, I have -$17.45 right now. Before buying my house, this would have been tempting though.

Not sure if it's going to fly, because dealer is going to add mark-up on the car so the margin becomes thinner

There's already a waiting list. By the time it is your turn, it's probably not that hard to get one on a walk-in anymore.

But it is almost risk-free, so why not?

I think Nissan was going to cancel the warranty on that perticular vehicle if it were sold to make profit...I've read that on leftlanenews.com

Doesn;t sound right....does this mean the dealer has to sell MSRP?
