car wont start. help?
ok so friday i was coming home from work, and my belt snapped, I soon realized it was becuse of thurs night i playing around and i forgot to put a washer on the idler pully so the bareings sized and the belt snapped. so I thought to my self i still have enough juice to make it home, my car is lowered and doesn't agree with tow trucks. on the way my car also started to over heat and i ended up putting water in and it was fine ( a completely differant problem just thought i would toss it out there) so yesterday i fixed the pully and the belt and charged the battery overnight today i go to start the car it wont start
does anyone know if i killed the battery all the way down that it would not hold a charge enough to start the car anymore? and/or is there a way to test this? it is a newer battery came with the car at least over a year old. thanks for any help.

will it start with a jump?
and if so - jump it and drive it around for 15 miles - shut off the car and turn see if it will turn over
you could also bring the car to autozone / sears and they can test the battery for free to see if it will hold a charge
do you get anything at all when you turn the key ie lights on the dash or door chime??

i get the door chime dash lights and all the radio and stuff the car does turnover with a jump but still wont start. I was wondering if i somehow fried my spark plugs when it started to overheat. 5 bars the one just before the red. I have heard about other cars doing that, but i have iridum plugs and there only about 6k miles on them.
nope you can not fry your spark plugs when you over heat a car- three basic reasons a car will turn but not start
no fuel
no spark getting to the plugs
no compression -
i doubt you blew the motor over even over heated it because you were under the red
tell me what you have for mods? any changes to the ecu?
also antifreeze is MUCH better than water but if you poured cold water in a hot engine you could have bigger problems

I know antifreeze is better but i was on the pike so i just stopped at the rest stop, it was cold water that is all they had. but the car ran fine after that. mods i have are supercharger on but no belt, headers exhaust, fpr, no ecu changes at all.

First , the S2000 water pump is driven off the serpentine belt . NOT the timing chain . So if you loose the belt you loose the water pump
second you have to check the fuel pressure with the vac line to the regulator off and plugged .
If the car is cranking strong , more than likely the battery is good . If not do you have a aftermarket alarm ?
You using the Box and FMU that came with the supercharger ? or something else ?
where to start , disconnect the battery to reset the ECU . Clean plugs and give it a try ..

so small update i checked fuel pressue it's still fine, so i moved on to the plugs. upon removeing the coils i found that the 3rd coil is slightly melted. all the plugs looked good with good gap, but they did have gas still on them. I also noticed that there is a burnt smell coming from the engine or maybe it was just the coils not too sure. the supercharger belt isn't hooked up and no ecu changes have been made yet. I do have an alarm but that seems to be working fine. I am not sure about replaceing the coils as it was working fine for the 20 min drive home after the belt broke, is there a way to check them other then an obd2 reader?
