To be honest does it really matter if he took performance enhancing steroids or not, the Mitchell Report, granted it was very in depth and gave the public some insight to the widespread use of steroids but steroids, HGH, etc is much deeper and widespread than what was lead on.

Honestly, we really have no idea how widespread it is in baseball and I seriously doubt we ever will. Also, I feel that once someone reaches that level they should be able to use these type of drugs because a. in order to gain any benefit at all they MUST work exteremely hard for exteremely long periods of time and b. these drugs do not help with the finese part of baseball, taking steriods will not help you make contact with a ball going by you at 90 mph (granted it will help you hit it 450 ft. only after a significant amount of training) nor will it help a pitcher throw a strike.

One last note, just because I feel this way does not mean, I myself take or condone the use of performance enhancing drugs. I just see why professional athletes take them and I think its their body/life and they should do what they want within reason.

Okay, I'm done now, yes I know my thoughts are controversial, but oh well...

yeah but abviously the steriods must have damaged his brain function if he thinks he can lie in front of congress.
of course on the other hand he never impressed me as Nobel laureate candidate material to begin with either so maybe it had no effect.

Maybe now Pete can get into the hall
IMHO, Rose should be inducted into the Hall the day after the guy with the third-highest career batting average goes in.

good point, and this may be true, but it does however increase stamina and allow an athlete to heal quicker. This is why I think you see Bonds and Clemens able to put up big numbers, even record breaking numbers during there twighlight years when most players performance starts to take a dramatic decline.

If baseball, or any sport for that matter really wanted to get rid of any PED, they need to get serious about suspensions. Test positive once, you done for a year, test a 2nd time, don't come back............that'll take care of it.

Whether he took them or not, his career is tainted.
Then again why should we care? Another rich entertainer might have cheated, so what. If he did he may die sooner. Should the government interfere with the leagues, shit no. The world has too many problems for them to get involved with such trivia and drivel.
I say who cares, lets get on with our lives and hopefully in our lifetime there will be an end to war and poverty. Ha!
