Default Comcast Cable ISP vs Verizon DSL

No FIOS in my neighborhood, so i need to make a choice between Comcast cable and Verizon DSL. I have had DSL for years and I think it is very slow and unreliable. But I know nothing about Comcast cable, except that it costs more thant twice the price of DSL. What is your experience with the Comcast cable ISP? Also, should I go for the Triple Play package and give Verizon the boot?

Your input is appreciated.

If I paid for internet access, I'd spend the extra money on Comcast cable over DSL. I "sample" both of these services fairly frequently and DSL is painfully slow after getting used to cable speeds.

I switched last year from AT&T DSL to Comcast cable. Much better, faster and more reliable. Look around for deals to be had. I signed up for 12 months, first 6 months only $19.95 per month. Call up Comcast and tell them you'd like their product, but Verizon's price is $x cheeper. See what they say.

cable is 10 times better so twice the price is fair, but I would call and see what deals they have...

I've only had dial up and DSL. DSL works fine for me, obviously much faster than dial up. I've heard cable is faster than DSL, but I'm happy with the speed I have, and I prefer dealing with Verizon vs ComCast.

Cable might be too fast for folks like you and me.

Comcast user for over 2 years now and it works well. Hardly ever down and I'm in an older, more rural neighborhood.
