Not even close. It's a computer, not a car. Function over form!!!

There should have been another option in the poll...

Sell all the components you already have on ebay or craigslist and buy a cheap laptop. Then you can take it anywhere and it will "match".

That might look cool.

I voted for matching although currently my setup doesn't even match. In fact, I can't remember having my PC setup actually match at any one time. I blame this all on my purchase of a silver brushed aluminum PC case. This probably wasn't the best idea. I found that when I put my drives in the case, they looked horribly out of place. I solved this by removing all the plastics from my CD burner and the floppy drive and spray painting them silver... this worked pretty well. Another problem was, at the time, no one made a monitor, keyboard, or speaker setup that came in that color. I settled on a black and silver combo. This worked pretty well too, with the exception of my keyboard. I refused to part with my split keyboard, I'd gotten used to it to the point that I made numerous typos with a normal keyboard. That was as close as I came to a "matching" PC setup, all black and silver components with the exception of my beige keyboard. Now I can buy a nice black split keyboard or an aluminum finished monitor if I really wanted. The thing is... I now use my laptop far more than my PC, so it's never happened.

So most of you computer require matching components....interesting.....Didn't realize so many of you have a touch of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) for those not in the know.

Are your CD's alphabetical? Do the teeth of the keys on your key ring face the same direction, and for those who carry cash, do the dead presidents all have to face the same way. If you answer yes to any of these questions, maybe you are just a bit obsessed.

I voted yes. You'll going to have to get a nice black framed widescreen and a new mouse now. It's a good excuse to upgrade
Lainey,
it's time to upgrade the monitor. remember size matters.

Heck no! When I slap a PC together, I try to get the best value available in each component. These components are almost never made from the same manufacturer.

Yes to all of the above. Well, except for the CD's... that was true until the ex-wife took them all though.

Of course they have to match! That's just insane! Would you walk out of the house with two different colored socks? Two different shoes? I think not!!!! Throw it all out and start over!
