Hmm, I hate adapters but if is only a USB (square) to a PC (round) connector that is OK. OR vice versa.
An adapter will slow the actual connection, but not enough to make a real difference unless you are playing a First Person Shooter. If you pc is for home, internet, mail and the like there will be not difference.
As far as the color goes, black is definitely faster. hehehe.

Erick hooked me up with a place to get an adapter. For the benefit of all our our furnishings, that will work better than spray paint.

 

Mike, you can take the advertisement sticker off the PC now. It's like driving a car around with the dealer's window sticker on it for a few years after you bought it

 

I tried, they did not come off well That was my old setup anyways. Now the PC his hidden where I never ever have to look at it.

 

Exactly my point in this thread. Which is why whether they match or not makes no difference.

I agree. When you build the color is nice but not instrumental in the working of the pc.

 

Weren't you the guy looking for the matching washer and dryer? Do they work better if they are the same color?
