Computer Donation
I have 5 computers lying around my garage, they're PIII's with all the goodies inside. I know there are places where you can donate them for third world countries. but I've searched and inquired online sources and got no responses. Anyone know a place I could take them in SE CT or RI that will give me a receipt?
I seriously doubt you will be able to get a charitable contribution for such old computers.
You will probably have to contact your town to find out who you pay to pick up these hazardous items.
My town charges $25 each.

Well actually the site I found online as for computers of the PII generation, bu this time of the year they're swamped and I'm not expecting much for any prompt response. I completely forgot i had them, tripped over one a few days ago and been looking into getting em out of my way.
My company always donated to these folks:

Don't know how complicated or easy it is but looks like they take PIIIs.

Goodwilll will recycle your computer for $25. They electronically shred the hard drive for your security, then salvage any usable components. Your donation helps their workers keep busy.

Yep, checked goodwill. The only drop off location is close till new years LOL. there's nothing like closing a charity right at the time when people are looking to donate!
