No ofense with the nerd stuff, I am usually one myself but this has me thinking....

Is there any way to input a video signal to a laptop to play it on it's screen? Like a PC card or something with inputs?

Depends on the video card. My old desktop video card had RCA inputs but most laptops will NOT come with these types of inputs standards.

Guess I answered my own question. I searched on ebay and found a TON of PC cards that have video input. I wonder if I can find one with HD inputs???
