got a ticket for a loud exhaust last night from a providence cop !!! 85$ and i wasnt even in vtec!

i actually thought the HKS was one of the quiter exhausts...


anyone else ever get a ticket for an exhaust? and do you think theres any chance of appeal!? i realy think ima just pay it cause i dont want to have to go to RI courts and take a day off for that BS

and does this affect my mass. driving record??

 

did he cite an dB level? Did he measure it or just go by his ears? I don't see how they can subjectively ticket unless it's really bad. My Audi exhaust is loud and I've never had an issue. Most harleys are way louder than an import with and exhaust...sucks that we get picked on.

I don't think an exhaust ticket goes on your points, but call your insurance agent to be sure. I would still appeal everything, can't hurt to try. HKS is quiet as hell, what else did you do????

 

How fast were you going, that he didn't have his radar and knew you were speeding so he hit ya with noise.
You should have told him that it was your stereo and that you will turn it down next time. LOL!

 

nuthin i was leavin the club at about 2 in the morn...there was a ford lighting f 150 SVT behind me all gassed up! he did a break stand and he didnt even get pulled over i did... that is what im mainly pissed about and i didnt even screetch tires or nuthin just took it up to like 5k in first! and just let off the gas and let it BRRRRRRRR if you have an exhaust u know what i mean! and then the next light im gettin pulled over! WTF its only 85$

and no !!! i learned my lesson...stash stays at home!

Maybe he thought the noise the SVT was making was you since the S is faster than the POS ford

I still say appeal it. Worse case is that you end up paying it.

 

just think Young Gun - Hawt car - and maybe a hawt girl in said hawt car will almost always get targeted..

People still think that we take enough time to look into cars and only pick sports cars and young kids, huh??? then you have the racial profiling people... then there is the fat ugly women and white men who say they are targets... the hawt girls say we target them to get a peek, soccer moms need to drive 80 to get 5 kids to practice, the arabs aren't happy with our service.. hmm I guess the police just target everyone. Fair that way, but I guess everyone has to make themselves feel like they are wronged, because we all know that no one is ever wrong themself.
