Default End of S2000

NO this is not a joke, the end of the S2000 has been announced and now published. June 07' magazine issues are backing up the claims (example Road & Track). 08' will be the last run of the s2000, released this September. It will be replaced by what is currently being called the Honda S800. A more refined and civilized drop top to either come out or be unveiled in 09.

I highly, highly doubt they'll go with "S800" as the "S" series has always gone up numerically. And the number stood for the CC's of displacement (rounding to the nearest 100 of course), doubt they'll go back to a .8 liter motor...

Btw, There already was an S800 which was pretty cool.

No, I'm thinking it's either going to go S2400 with the Turbo 2.4 or even an all new small 6-cylinder that could be corporate for a few new RWD offerings besides the S

I have already posted this in S2000 talk (where it got locked) and Vintage. The article makes perfect sense. Honda will offer a car with less performance for less price and compete with Miatas, Skys, Solstices and the thing Chrysler is building.

I'm just glad I got mine when I did!

I think the S800 Convertible was much prettier than the Coupe...

http://hondasportsregistry.com/broch...rochs800_5.php

but I'm a convertible ho - oh and a track ho too according to some

Nimbus - nice track picture! Any plans for Laguna? I would SO love to go but Vermont is a LONG way

Bill where's the article you are talking about? Thanks!
