OK, I have a loose idea in my mind of who is going down to FC this year. I currently have my hotel reservation for Friday and Saturday night, but I have really been considering arriving Thursday night and checking in so that I am rested up on Friday. Who else is doing this? Maybe we can hook up for some dinner and beers on Thursday night.

 

Jeff we are heading out Thursday but only as far as NY. As of now, PAs2knut/Jim and Glenn are on this same "game plan" as well. We'll be in VA late afternoon on Friday.

Erick was thinking of driving through the night on Thursday.......

 

That is the plan, I just need to make my reservation for our stay in NY.

 

Hmm, the more I think about it, I think Erick and Julius said they were going all the way down to VA on Thursday. I am sure we can find something to do &

If we hook up with you, you young guns can feel free to we'll catch up with you in VA.

Something tells me you guys may want to move a bit faster, and I'd bet you don't need a restroom stop as often as we do.

 

We're going to FC but have to do the entire drive down on Friday - all 9.5 hours - not counting restroom stops

Hopefully if we leave by 8 AM we will arrive by 7 PM that night. I may even let Joe drive part of the way

Anyone else this crazy? Would be happy to meet up with someone along the way down... Mapquest says we are taking 87, then Jersey Pike, then 95.

 

Ellen, you may run into a heck of a mess on 95 on a Friday night at commuter time.....

We're coming in from the other side, around the Front Royal, VA area, but not exactly there........Good thing Rick's driving. My point is, you might want to look at a map and go around 95 and the Washington Beltway. It will increase your time on the road, but it will also increase the likelihood that you will keep moving while on the highway vs. getting stuck in commuter traffic.

Try Google maps. You get a highlighted route and you can drag it to the route you prefer to drive....It will recalculate your driving time.
