Default flat in left rear

what would you guys do? i apparently drove over glass last summer and had a leak in the left rear...went to Firestone and they plugged it free of charge. at the time, i only had a couple thousand miles on the car. now i have 6500 miles...still a baby...but the leak is back. do i buy one tire to replace it? or buy a set of rears so that they'd be even in wear. the current wear is minimal. (i know glenn has seen my tread briefly when i picked up my jacket from him.)
any advice is welcomed. thanks guys!

As long as it is not on the side wall and it is not a big hole you should be fine, but I would start saving up for some new rears soon.

You should never really plug a high performance tire except for emergency use. Have the tire removed from the rim and patched from the inside. They typically even mark where the tire mounts

New tire warranty discussion. Many will argue this debate but, I say argue the puncture and get an adjustment. If they say it is not covered, stand strong, low milage is a big thing here, plus their repair may not have been100%. It is worth a discussion.

I never want to take more then what is expected, but I do expect customer service on a product that is within reason.

i totally agree max. i just got back from Firestone and i have a screw in the left rear in addition to the previous plug...so i'm gonna get a new set of rears. so i figured i'd ask what they charge for them. my jaw dropped. $306 per TIRE...and that isn't mounting and crap. so i told them that i'd have them shipped from Tire Rack and they said that they'll work with me on the price....price match. they're gonna call me. so for now i'm driving with a plug and a screw in my tire. this sucks....thank God its raining and i have another car.

Driving around with a screw in your tire is just plain dumb.

Go get them patched (from the inside) for the $20 bucks or so it will cost. Especially if you have some usable tread left.
