Thanks all, this gives me a good list to work from...I'll check the plugs first, then the MAP sensor whack trick.

Turns out that replacing the plugs did the trick. 40K on that set and it's amazing what a new set does...runs like it's supposed to. I cleaned the throttle body too, but it wasn't very dirty, and the tiny port to the MAP sensor was perfectly clean...and that's with 50K miles on the car & it's never had a thottle body service before. That says alot about how good fuels are nowadays.

On the topic of plugs - does anyone run or recommend different plugs than what comes stock?

If you are Stock , Stick with the stock plug
