Good-bye, sweet Midnight
Cats are smarter than people think. Our departed kitty always seem to know which room we were in as she'd jump up and bang on the window to get our attention.
If she was out at night, she'd bang on our bedroom window. Even though it's on a first floor, she still had quite a jump to make. She'd continue jumping and banging until one of us got up to let her in.
Another time she "hitched" a ride to the next town in my son's brother in law's car. I get a call at three AM from my soon to be daughter in law telling me she thinks my cat is at her house.
The brother didn't realize it, but the cat hopped into his car, scooted out before he saw her, then she banged on a window, pushed in the screen and settled in on my daughter in law's bed!

When he was little he would steal my sock and run off with it.
