Thank you so much, all of you, for your outpouring of support! It means so very much right now!!

We are watching the three remaining cats very closely to see how each one is going to respond and minister to them accordingly. The now oldest, Sassy, has become very cuddly, and he never was before. I moved his food dish to Midnight's former spot to let him know that he's in charge now, but he still keeps going to his old spot, then moving over. It's going to take a while for us ALL to get used to the big hole in our lives. Here are the other four-legged members of our family:

Sassy, the new head of the pack, here sitting next to Midnight

Stripe - no, the camera does not add pounds, he really is 23 lbs - all cat!!!

PJ - the youngest, and our only girl!!

Thanks Bob! We keep thinking of more and more stories every hour. I'm so glad we have these great memories!

Thanks, Lainey. We are doing a little better today. The hurt isn't as strong as the numbness. I keep expecting to see him in the hooded cat bed, lying in front of the sunny window. I'm petting the other kitties a lot, just loving all over them to ease the pain - theirs and mine.

I had no idea this would be so incredibly hard! My neighbor, the Greyhound rescue lady, told us the first week would be the worst. She has been through this many time - 4 in the last year, I believe - so I'll take her word for it. I think it will help if we keep ourselves busy and keep focusing on the good memories we have.

Thanks for all the support and encouraging words. We appreciate it so much! It's good to know we have so many good friends!
