Default got pulled over

this actually happened yesterday, but i didnt have time to post it.
so i was at a gas sation, i pulled out and kind of guned it, i went from first to second and was at ~32 mph, and then dropped it to neutral, as i did that i saw a cop hidding on the side of the road. and sure enough he pulls out and follows me for a bit and then pulls me over. he gets out of his car and asks for license and registration, i give him the lic. and reg. and said there you go sir.
then he tells me "you got on it back there huh",
i tell him , yeah i'm sorry but i wasnt trying to speed.
he says well that brings me to another thing why dont you have a front license plate.
i tell him, when i bought the car there's was a screw missing for the mounting hardware and i never got a chance to fix it .
then he tells me he'll be back.
i sit and wait, and finally he gets out of his car with a ticket in his hand , i was thinking oh shit, anyway he comes up to the car and tells me i gave you a written warning , go get your license plate fixed.
i say thank you very much and he leaves.
i open the warning slip and it said missing front license plate and modifed exhaust (i had taken the silencers out earlier that day).
the cop was nice enough to give me a warning, now should i put the front license plate back on, and should i drive with the silencers in again? what do yuo guys think?

If the warning ends up in the computer and you get pulled over for it
again, you will most likely get a ticket for it. So, if you want to take that
chance, that's the risk you take.

Of course, if it doesn't show up when they run you the next time, then
you might just get another warning.

If there is a good chance the same officer will see you again ( a small township) I would. Next time he may not be so understanding.

it was in Bridgewater , so it's kind of a small town.
i think i goes on the system b/c it was a written warning
i guess, i'll put the license plate back on, but he didnt say anything about the exhaust but wrote it down, so silencers or not?

It will stay in the town computer system. Not sure how long though.

Rick got stopped two years in a row in Rochester, both times speeding, both times no front plate on the car. The missing plate was never even mentioned. The first time he got verbal warning, the second time the nice officer said, "You've been stopped in this town before."......

That got a written warning...no ticket. Vintage driver, clean record FTW.

He's now very cautious in the town of Rochester. If not I "remind" him.

I've been warned before for not having a front plate and I still keep it off. From what I understand, it's something like a $35 fine in MA and it isn't a moving violation so it won't affect insurance rates. I guess if the same cop started giving me those tickets once a week, I'd think differently. But, so far I've only had one warning for it in the last 10 years or so.

I got pulled over on Rt. 95 in Maine about 9 months ago for no front plate. I got a $165 fine though. Front plate has been on ever since!
