Ah, a good time had by all.
I'm going to hijack my own thread... but how many people out there have to plan ahead regarding the vehicle they take out to an event because of the issue that their significant other cannot drive stick??
For instance, if I take my A4 or the S2000, I have to make sure I stay sober, as the wife is not yet practiced enough to drive stick. I'm wondering how common this is... and what people plan to do about it.
Lessons for my wife started with the new year...

My wife won't drive at night. I'm screwed no matter what I'm driving.

There is a much lower percentage of people who CAN drive stick these days compared to just 10 or 15 years ago. It's a little scary.
I hope manual shift continues to be available as long as I'm buying cars. The availability or not, of a stick shift would be a key factor in future car purchases for me.
My guess is that small low end cars and sports cars will continue to offer 5 and 6 speeds and since those are the only two I have interest in buying, hopefully I can continue being a control freak for many years.

I taught Barb to drive stick when we were still dating.
She learned on Saturday and autocrossed on Sunday.
quick study that girl.
