I just read the Road and Track test of the new E550 Coupe. Great acceleration, but mediocre handling. The base car seems reasonably priced, but the option packages are damn expensive. What is your take on it?

 

I haven't been following it much but looking at the numbers I bet it goes like stink.

375hp/392ft*lbs it should move. especially with ~300 ftlbs @ 1000 rpm.

looks like a great car at the wrong time.

Benzes are funny cars. they don't encourage cut and slash driving styles but They just seem to do everything you ask. It's just detuned a little to take the edge off. They're not in the toy class but make great daily drivers.

The more I drive my E the more I like it. Think I need struts soon though. but @ 125K I can't complain.

I definitely would get the package 2 for the biXenon lamps. We have them on the S430 and they are AWESOME. I wish I could put them in the S2000.

I may have to go drive one for giggles.
