Default i need a rod with a joint on it

but have no idea where to buy something like this

my house has a built in exhaust fan above the cook top that's on a pull chain with a spring - the spring let go a while ago and i swapped it out however the new spring let go again

it kind of looks like this

so i was thinking of changing the pull chain (connected to the spring) with a small rod with a joint in it

You want a joint?

Any metals supply places near you? They may have something like that.

yup a tiny joint that will allow a rod to go 90 degrees then back to 0 degrees

figure this will also help pull the outside "door" tighter as well when not in use

First thing I'd try is a search for "Connecting Rod" on something like McMaster-Carr, MSC or Reid Tool. If that didn't work, look at the manufacturers site for replacement parts.

Hope this helps.

Steve, I have a fan like that and it needed some parts. My electrician got all the parts for it at the local electrical supply warehouse. If you go there and tell them what kind of fan it is, they might have the exact part.
