I'm speechless

I get depressed when I watch tech shows (like last night) on highways of the future.
they sing the praises of cars will navigate themselves on the highways and through intersections.

Kinda.
Seriously, it has to have the same appetite for gasoline as my Titan, and we all know you hate that.
I'm just saying...

Yeah, but it doesn't block my view as I drive down the street. Plus, I support using excess fuel for high performance cars. I think fuel used for trucks and SUVs to commute to work is a waste of a precious commodity that should be reserved for pleasurable pass times like meaningless drives in the country in a sports car. People should walk to work, bike, or take a bus or a train. At the very most, people should use a small four cylinder commuter car to drive to work. Going to work is a chore and we should be the most energy efficient when commuting as part of our employment.

2- Well we agree on that...
3- The implication here then is I need another vehicle for my commute. Not all of us are as wealthy as you, I drive a truck to work because I need a truck for towing and to support my home upgrade program/rebuild.
4- Walking is absurd, it's 11 miles one way, like I have that much time to waste twice a day... Biking is totally out of the question, it would not be safe sharing the narrow country road with other cars and trucks and not even possible in the winter, this is country, we don't have sidewalks. Bus or train, just another pie-in-the-sky idea, there are no bus routes near me, and the only train is a freight train that comes through around midnight.
Your frame-of-reference may be applicable to your life, but you cannot expect everybody to fit into the same system, or, well you can expect it, but it is totally impossible in application.
GT-R hits 0-60 in 3.3 seconds!!
We know you want the numbers and we're not going to waste your time. Neither is Nissan. Its 2009 GT-R hits 60 mph in 3.3 seconds, quicker than the last Dodge Viper, Corvette Z06 and Porsche 911 Turbo we tested. Keep your foot pinned, and after another tap on the upshift paddle it will clear the quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds at more than 120 mph.
The Corvette Z06 isn't even close. Once impressive, its 4.1-second 0-60-mph run and 12-second quarter-mile at 121.8 mph are now well off the pace, which is why Chevy is creating the supercharged Corvette ZR1
