the iPhone is great for people who want to feel like they are cutting edge but have no real tech savy. I don't know how Julius fell into this because I know he has plenty of tech knowledge.

I don't know Erick, what you say makes sence, but the rom kitchens have come a long way since the 6700 you have now. I loaded one ROM and it has worked flawlessly since day one. No hangs, no soft resets, nothing.
Play with mine tonight, or Steve's after I flash it.

Yeah, I too think, the whole "i" in Apple products is a little overplayed, but I have to disagree with you about the iPhone. Feature-wise, it is not all that, the Sony Xperia leaves it in the dust. However, usability-wise, there is no comparable phone, and since I think usability is very important, I think it does deserve some recognition for innovations and pushing the envelope.

The iPhone started with some new good ideas, other phones have improved upon those ideas. the only thing I wish my touch had that it doies not is an accelrometer. I can live without that though.
What options for push email does the iPhone have?

"I" have had enough of this "I" crap.
It's like those little rubber band bracelets that everyone wore a few years ago. spend a dollar to buy a yellow one and you are all of a sudden a champion fighter against cancer. Give me a break. the iPhone and everything else with an "i" in it is another "look at me" product and bigtime bandwagon!

but wait there's more

All other phones have been hackable from day one. It is just Apple makes it so hard, so if that is the criterion, it is more like another reason iphone < all other phones.
Also, as far as I know, the iPhone is a GSM phone, which means is can run on only two networks in the USA, one being AT&T and the other being T-Mobile. GSM networks are popular the world over except in the US and requires a SIM card. All other networks in the US are TDMA/CDMA networks. As far as I know, the iPhone is incompatible with these networks. Unless you are talking about data plans, or voice over data, VOIP, then I can see it working.

dave, do you even have an iPhone? Or just the iPod touch?

I just like razzin you all up

But if i needed a phone right now i would buy the iphone the sheer speed of the interface and the simplicity of use wins me over. It really the same as the itouch other than voice and the itouch has been a stellar performer for me. You prob do not realize a lot of my post one here come from my itouch. Its fast! Kenta will attest to the interface, also i think all the other guys out there are johnny come latelys basically trying to copy what the iphone innovated. So for me the original is the win. My current phone is a samsung blackjack another stellar performer it is the blackjack 1 and hacked also.
Now no ill admit i dont use this push mail and gps maps no, so i cant speak for those features.
Remember what i said above, regarding the post. Its all in fun to razz you guys up!
