iPhone
iPhone > iPod touch
I love the touch, awesome form factor (almost 2x as thin as iPhone) but I use it for web surfing and e-mail WHEN I have 802.11 wireless access... and uh, that's not all the time and that really blows. This is where the data services of the cell phone make the iPhone worth the price. However... it's on AT&T's network. In my situation, once you hit NH their network starts turns to sh*t, no 3G access, lackluster cell reception, it's just not worth it.
Currently I'm using a Palm Treo 755p. The Palm interface absolutely sucks compared to the iPod touch/iPhone. It's like the difference between Windows 3.1 and XP. You know what I mean? It's clunky and it feels out dated, however.... it works and I get reception.
Sprint Network > ATT Network
If the ATT network ever got better I'd totally switch. The iPhone interface is far superior, the apps (there are a ton of free ones) are of good quality, and the iPhone/touch are quite hackable which is fun to tinker with. Too bad the service here is so poor.

Still waiting on the Sony Xperia which will trump all phones!!!
You guys are just bickering over the crumbs!
Plus, when enough people have gotten a data plan on their phone, I'll be looking to use messaging apps like Skype for voice calls, because I don't want to deal with counting minutes, different rates, over the limit charges, fees this and that.

I'd love an itouch, but then I'd still need to carry a phone around as well. Might as well consolidate if possible.

Did you jailbreak it? Otherwise, the iPod Tocuh in "base" form was pretty boring. It's more interesting now with the official App store around, but prior to that you had to do the jailbreak to get the sluurry of extra's.
